Moving objects with the mind is a curious phenomenon. Isn’t it? It has attracted attention from people all over the world, especially film directors and story writers. And that is why there are amazing movies that have been made about telekinesis. We’ve been researching somewhat about those motion pictures where telekinesis was used as a major part of the plot and here are our top 5 picks.
No 5: Ghostbusters
Ghostbusters, its sequel, and the animated series have used telekinesis as their central plot. In the movie, the ghosts and the other supernatural creatures are made up of psychokinetic energy which is commonly known as PKE. In retaliation, the Ghostbusters uses a device called the PKE meter which measures the psychokinetic energy of a particular area. With the lead roles played by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, the series is a fun thing to watch and has thus made it to the 5th spot on our list. The first movie has a 7.8 rating out of 10 in the IMDB listing.
No 4: The Green Mile
This famous motion picture starring Tom Hanks is a cult in itself. The central character is a black man who is accused of child murder and rape and Tom Hanks who is the prison guard. The black man has a mysterious gift which is the power to heal. This power is an extension of telekinesis. The cinema goes back and forth between 1999 and 1935. Based on a Stephen King novel, the film got a nomination for four Academy Awards. It is a must watch film, even if you are not curious about psychokinesis.
No 3: The Matrix
This Keanu Reeves starrer is one of the most popular cinemas till date. The plot of the feature film revolves around the computer hacker who learns about the true nature of reality through mysterious rebels. He then takes a central role against controllers of reality. Keanu Reeves plays the role of Neo who can perform psychokinesis when he is wired to the computer matrix. An 8.7 rated movie out of 10, this movie rightly deserves its place in our top 5.
No 2: Frozen
Although it might look like an animation film for children, Frozen has more to it than being a film for children. It is based on psychokinesis. Princess Elsa is a sweet girl but with a power which she is unable to control. She can control ice with a swipe of her hand. When crowned as the queen, she accidentally uses her powers and brings in an eternal winter into her kingdom. She escapes from everyone so as to not cause any more damage to everyone. Her sister Anna teams up with a mountain man, playful reindeer, and a snowman to find her sister out and reverse the weather condition in the kingdom. This Disney animated picture developed from the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale “The Snow Queen” is a loved motion picture and a definite must watch.
No 1: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
An all-time favorite movie and the first of the three sequel movie, the fellowship of the ring is definitely the most popular movie out of all the three. A meek hobbit from the Shire, Frodo, and his companions go on an adventurous journey to destroy the powerful ring and save the middle of the earth from the Dark Lord. In this process, they go through a series of interesting experiences which are founded on psychokinesis.
